This recorder is very good at recording and transferring files to your computer. The microphone sensitivity is great and you simply plug the voice recorder into your computer and it recognizes it as an external drive. My big issue with the recorder though is the software on the recorder itself is very slow. I usually try to record my to dos while I’m driving and this recorder sometimes is too slow to react and it doesn’t actually record. I actually have to look at the recorder while driving to see if it’s recording which defeats the purpose of using it in the first place. Overall if you plan on using the recorder in a setting which you can see the recording light easily then this is good. If you need something that records when you can’t see the recording light then I’d try something else.
THE CONS:
How good this unit is depends on the usage. I found the user interface to confusing and problematic at times. Examples are in erasing files. It is actually easier to erase all the files than to just erase one file. The method used to delete just one file is entirely too complex. There is a delay in the start of the recording when the record button is presses. At startup this can be as long as five seconds. It is shorter when I make subsequent recordings - down to 1-2 seconds. If I decide to playback a recording then it aromatically plays the subsequent recordings once it is finished with the fist recording. This can be fine if one is playing a series of music tracks, but it is not beneficial if you are reviewing a sequence of short notes to oneself.
